Have you wondered where and how God might be at work through the current "global economic crisis"? As the powers and principalities of governments, industries, and economies struggle along, what role is there for a faith community anchored in the gospel of Jesus?

Absolutely - whether at the local, national, or global level - we, the church, need to be responding. God is at work in this. This is, in part, why I am so intrigued with the work of the Methodist Church during the Great Depression - and how the church ministered to needs (mind, body, & spirit). Though we are better postioned now to respond with both acts of mercy and justice - with a prophetic voice. It used to bug the heck out of me to hear its overuse, but I do find myself wondering, "What would Jesus do?". We are, after all, the Body of Christ.
